about the author
Ron Erickson was a native of Massachusetts and loved the Boston Celtics, Red Sox, and New England Patriots. He joined the United States Air Force after graduating high school and retired as a Senior master sergeant. Upon retiring, he worked civil service for several years before he and his beautiful wife, Kay, decided to embark on new adventures.

Ron and Kay moved to the Texas Hill Country and worked for a couple different tubing outfitters on the Guadalupe River. They also owned a sports bar on the Guadalupe River – The Locker Room. In the spirit of never missing an opportunity to do something different, Ron and Kay decided to start exploring Mexico. They initially set sights on the Gulf of Mexico side and made tracks to Cabo Alto, just outside of Veracruz. Eventually, they made their way to other locations and found themselves settling in Mazatlán, located on the Pacific. Ron’s love of Mexico and the people inspired him to get outside of his comfort zone and try something new – writing.
Ron finished this book circa 2004. He and Kay returned to San Antonio, Texas in 2010. Kay passed away in 2014. Ron passed away of heart complications on November 6, 2022. He could never get over losing the love of his life, his inspiration for the fictional character - Evie Sue Brown.
